General Provisions - Goals and Tasks
The project Topic.Sirius is a demo version (v1) of the first stage of creating a expert system for analyzing and forecasting processes, phenomena, events (tasks) in the country and the world. Achievement of tasks is carried out on the basis of: analysis of information flows (fields - IP) formed by electronic media (Sources), by automation:
- primary analysis (collection, assessment of primary linguistic-static indicators, thematic filtering) informational messages;
- synthesis of knowledge what is the goal of the project (integral indicators, infographics, generalizations, characteristics, conclusions).
Minimum elements (messages) are subject to evaluation and analysis, and on their basis generalization categories of information (Sources, Topics of the day, Categories, Subjects) each of which is presented in a separate page. Elements of analysis and synthesis are implemented through widgets on each page.
As a tool (AWP), the analytical system is designed to automate the process of collecting, accumulating and evaluating information from open sources, in-line reporting on resonant processes, phenomena and events, as well as their analysis. Allows you to automatically identify (current and retrospective, general and private) trends in domestic and foreign policy, economics, technology, ecology, social and humanitarian spheres.
Thanks to the ability to analyze information flows over a certain period (21 days), the system helps to identify critical trends that are characteristic of information attacks.
The system is flexibly configured (characterizes) both on the internal information space and on the global (external) information space of the subject of study, which have a significant impact on individual areas (industries) and the state in whole.
Color Interpretation
The system provides ranking and color for categories (Sources, Topics of the day, Categories, Topics) and elements (messages) of analysis in lists and indicators based on an integral indicator of the presence of PR influence. The indicator as a percentage from a linguistic point of view, shows the degree of similarity of materials to “texts of direct influence”, i.e. saturation of emotional, manipulative content with signs of the presence of copyright opinions and ratings regarding the described objects, processes and phenomena.
The elements and categories of analysis arranged in lists and / or colored in this way form 3 zones of “confidence” in information from the point of view of its potential impact:
- Green Zone - focused mainly on the delivery of factual material with a minimum of emotional, evaluative and manipulative content;
- "Gray Zone" - represent categories related to border (or buffer) in terms of bias, aggressive content;
- "Red Zone" - categories with significant (over 75%) signs of PR influence; stimulate the population to manifest the following psychological qualities: stubborn protest against intolerable constraint.
Moreover, the red zone characterizes the analysis element or category as a translator of "infected" information, and the "tonality indicator" shows (explains) which particular factors are involved in the formation of trends in this zone. That allows you to identify internal and external sources of threats of information expansion (security), as well as identify relevant trends as agents of these threats.
Key features of the system:
- ensuring the reliability and completeness of information by automatically determining the required number (representativeness) of sources and the quality of the information received from them (linguistic-statistical assessment - “Tonality Indicator” widget);
- use of artificial intelligence technologies to extract significant (“Topics of the day” - summarizing messages around resonant topics) information, even from a “polluted” (“toxic”) information environment with signs of propaganda and influence (PR ratio);
- the absence of the human factor (subjective opinion) on the initial assessment of the category of information (messages, sources, topics of the day, headings, topics), which ultimately improves the quality of analysis and forecast;
- linguistic-statistical analysis of text saturation "toxic" content: identification of emotional (emotions, threats, the nature of the relationship between objects) and manipulative content;
- fully automated primary analytical processing of the flow of information messages and automation of reporting (assessment, characteristics, infographics, conclusions regarding the categories of information);
- information support (informing) of managerial decisions made due to the possibility of a review (compression and generalization of the information flow) of familiarization and automation of content analysis elements of the selected array of information.
System Features:
- assessment of the general situation in the information flow (field) formed by a representative set of sources (electronic media);
- identifying leaders, repeaters of public opinion and external opponents by analyzing the characteristics of the sources and their share in the formation of “Themes of the day”;
- monitoring and evaluation of sources (media) forming a representative information stream (field), identifying significant sources (explicit “favorites”), their activities and degree influence on public opinion;
- identification of internal and external sources of threat information security (expansion: propaganda, influence);
- identification of customers of information impacts, determine their goals and objectives by analyzing the characteristics of sources and the list of “Topics of the day” for the period in which they took part;
- identification of information expansion, detection of open mechanisms (texts of direct influence with a high PR-coefficient) and hidden (trends - “Themes of the day”) informational influence;
- monitoring of global, political, economic, military, environmental and other processes by analysis of partial information flows - Rubrics, including the identification of information influences that allow one or another entity to obtain unilateral advantages;
- providing objective information in the "pure informing" mode regarding the subjects of interest;
- control of the geopolitical situation in various regions of the world;
- implementation of in-line monitoring (mentioning) of certain objects, events and phenomena with respect to subjects of interest (i.e., occurring, for example, both within the country and abroad), as well determine the degree of their influence on the internal and external situation by analyzing the partial information flows of special Topics.
